Dr. Yvonne H. Osborne, PhD
Clinical and Forensic Psychologist
Dr. Yvonne Osborne is a clinical and forensic psychologist in private practice in Memphis. Her practice is limited to assessments for academic diagnostics, disability evaluations, vocational rehabilitation evaluations, conservatorships, and mental injury as well as employment decisions, competency to stand trial, job selection, and other forensic process decisions. Previously, she was in private practice in New Orleans, LA and Baton Rouge, LA. She has served on the teaching faculties of Christian Brothers College, Louisiana State University, Our Lady of the Lakes Nursing Program, Baylor University, and the University of Kentucky Jefferson Community College. Also, she has provided psychological services for Southern Illinois University Counseling Center, Mt. Vernon (IL) Mental Health Center, U of Louisville Black Student Services, Methodist Psychiatric Pavilion (Clinical Director), and East Lake Hospital (Chief Psychologist).
She received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and mathematics from Memphis State University, a Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and a Doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville. Also, she completed an internship in clinical psychology at Vanderbilt University Medical School. She has co-authored two books, several book chapters, and published numerous articles in psychology journals.
Currently, she serves as vice president for the Board of Directors of NAMI Memphis and as a member of the PreK Advisory Board of Shelby County Schools. She is past president of Top Ladies of Distinction – Memphis Chapter and former Top Teen Advisor of Top Ladies of Distinction – New Orleans Chapter. She is a member of Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Democratic Women of Shelby County, Tennessee Psychological Association, and Memphis Area Psychological Association. She attends St. Andrew African Methodist Episcopal Church where she is an active member of Readers Choice Book Club.
